Jamaica has a brand new Epicurean Tour!

As you may have heard by now, Walkerswood Caribbean Foods Ltd. (producer of world famous Jerk Seasoning) has created an exciting new epicurean adventure for Jamaica.

Surrounded by the cool green hills in the quaint village of Walker's Wood, this local attraction is located near the island’s famous North Coast - just minutes from Ocho Rios. Walkerswood Jerk Country Tour is an informative and fun journey into Jamaica's food heritage taking the visitor “from the field to the table”.

This modern facility is situated on a beautifully landscaped seven acre site in rural Jamaica - incorporating many environmentally friendly elements with a mix of nature and technology.

It all starts at the Pimento Porch Clubhouse where you will get a quick initiation as you learn our history. Take pleasure in the views of the countryside and enjoy the warmth of Jamaican hospitality as you head off, first to the Jerk Pit where you will “learn to do the jerk!” Try a sample and savour our sumptuous jerk food.

Then it’s on to Mother Thyme's Spice Garden for a snap shot into 'Old Time Jamaica' where her 18th century style “wattle and daub” hut is surrounded by a colourful selection of herbs and spices used to prepare Caribbean favorites. Mother Thyme will share a few of her family secrets and show you how Jamaicans have used natural ingredients for cooking and healing since days gone by.

Continue through the garden and enter our Factory where you can view first hand, the production and bottling of some of the 21 products, from behind a glass enclosed mezzanine level. With the pungent aromas swirling around your head we provide more temptation at our Tasting Shack where we open the jars, mix up dips and you can pick up an easy cooking tip or two. After all of this, it is guaranteed that you will want to take a piece of Walkerswood home with you. We are more than happy to oblige, so follow your guide through a small water garden to the Visitor Centre. 

Relax and enjoy the view with some easy reggae music while sipping a fresh tropical juice on the terrace. Have a bite from the Nyam and Scram Cafe where we feature both traditional and contemporary Jamaican snacks - to stay or to go. You can also enjoy the option of shopping to your heart's content at our One One Coco, kitchen craft shop which offers authentic Jamaican made items for entertaining Caribbean style. Pick up treats for the journey home choosing from a selection of cookbooks, sauces, spices and condiments.
